Q: Why are you doing this?

A: Good question! Mostly it is a labor of love. We have been throwing themed parties for a while and after a few years we had a huge amount of decorations and party supplies just sitting in storage.

Then…came the wedding. While planning her own wedding, Borrowed Bridal’s mastermind, was flabbergasted at the insane costs of every little thing related to a wedding. It seemed to be true. Any product that displayed the magic cost-inducing words “wedding” or “bridal” anywhere on their packaging were (for some unknown reason) being sold at about twice the cost of a similar product not being marketed toward brides.

Infuriated at the manipulation, she decided to dig through the event supply storage and found many items that were perfect for her wedding. Not everything was right for her big day but she saw how many of the things we already had may be completely perfect for someone else.

We started collecting “wedding items” shortly thereafter paying no mind to the style or theme. The storage became a sort of “pot luck” of decorations and supplies.

As soon as the idea had been hatched, it seemed everyone we knew was either getting married or had a friend who was. It has a snowball effect. Every time we lend our supplies, we get more supplies to lend.
