Our Favorites and your suggestions.
Here you
will find links to some of the businesses we have found to offer either
amazing deals or unique services. Most are local folks with at-home businesses.
Catering:
Lime Events and Catering ~
Based in Olympia, EXTREMELY competitive pricing, nice selection, friendly, very
flexible and easy to work with. No hidden extras.
Cake:
Mary
Sorg ~ Retired professional baker (Sumner area). Now only makes two
cakes per year. Book early.
General
Decorating:
Sergio's Designs ~ Home based
business, Lots of neat decorating items. Everyone wants tablecloths! Talk to
Billie at Sergio's, they can help.
Betta Mansions ~
These are neat. When we discovered these they were still a small business. Just
a girl investing her entire savings on a good idea... It has paid off and the
business has moved into a larger space in downtown Tacoma. While these don't
quite fit the frugal standards of Borrowed Bridal, they are still cheaper than
floral arrangements and....well it's just so cool!! Oh...ask about
cake stand/pedestals to match.
Floral:
Sergio's Designs ~ Now offering
floral services.
Dresses:
ebridalstore ~
on eBay ~ custom made to your measurements, most dresses you pick the
color. In most cases, you will pay more for shipping than the actual dress. This
is a real money saver. They are able to copy a dress from photos!
Photography:
Mason
Photography ~ new business offering very affordable services
Musicians:
Pianist, James (Jim) Cochran ~
Reasonable rates, brings his own keyboard, contact for specific details.
DJ's:

need your suggestions)
Venues:
Tacoma mountaineers
~ Tacoma, WA ~ up to 100 ppl, large kitchen, use any vendors
(or DIY), liquor with permit ok, neato rock wall thing in the
small back yard for photos or intimate ceremony, tables and
chairs included, no space for bridal party to get
ready.
Hales pass improvement center ~ Gig Harbor, WA ~ up to 40 ppl,
tiny kitchen, use any vendors (or DIY), liquor with permit ok, tables and chairs
included, extra space for getting ready. This place is perfect for a very
small wedding. A couple of issues: The restrooms...the building is old
and the plumbing is iffy, The main hall has only one outlet for
power....actually, we only found two usable outlets in the entire place. None in
the area that is ideal for getting ready. You will needs gads of
extension cord and plug strips. Bonus about this place: it rents for $25 for the
entire day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and...yes there's more, it has a huge covered
area that would be perfect for an outdoor reception behind the
building. This is easy to find and is not too far from SR-16 just only a
few minutes from Tacoma. Contact info on the website is not up to date. Please
email Trevor (who is
the current caretaker for this location as of 1/12/08).

Travel:
Jennifer
Hall @ World Voyager Vacations ~ Our Borrowed Bridal Team
favorite. Super deep savings. Speedy communication & very
friendly. She beat our best travel finds by $100...and we're good at finding the
discounts!
Do you
offer services that should be listed here? Send us your info. We are
specifically looking for vendors who are hobbyists turning pro, building
portfolios, or just trying to make a couple of extra bucks. This is
not the place for the big boys...unless you are offering some very serious
discounts.
